Heart disease is the #1 killer of women. In February, the sign in front of our world headquarters glowed red in honor of the 10th anniversary of the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women awareness campaign.
Bard recently donated $13,000 to refurbish a building in Kulim, Malaysia for use by Rumah Amal Kulim (RAK), a recovery and educational center for children with special needs. The building, donated by the local government, had no utilities, and part of the ceiling, windows and flooring needed to be replaced. With Bard's assistance, it is now structurally sound, and is being used by the children of RAK as a craft and training center.
Making Meals for the Hungry
In October, 28 volunteers from Bard’s Lutonix Technology Center in Minnesota made 6,264 meals for the hungry in partnership with the local Kids for Hunger office. That’s estimated to be a full year’s supply of meals for 17 kids!
Constructing a Classroom in Reynosa
Bard’s employees in Reynosa, Mexico recently helped construct a computer classroom and restrooms at the Multiple Assistance Center (CAM) in downtown Reynosa. CAM provides care for young people 13 to 25 years of age with disabilities.
