C. R. Bard Marks Centennial in 2007

Employees Celebrate by Performing 100 Acts of Kindness Throughout the Year

MURRAY HILL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 12, 2007--C. R. Bard, Inc. (NYSE-BCR) has announced the 100th anniversary celebration of its founding with the pledge that its employees around the world will perform a total of 100 charitable acts throughout the year. A web site, www.bard100.com, has been launched to provide an overview of the company's centennial and to track the Acts of Kindness.

Since 1907, Bard has been developing innovative medical technologies that have become cornerstones of modern healthcare. Charles Russell Bard, an importer of French silks, founded the company that bears his name after a bout of urinary discomfort prompted him to try Gomenol, a medication refined from eucalyptus trees and manufactured in France. Impressed with the results, he obtained exclusive U.S. distribution rights to the product, and soon expanded his offerings to include many other urological products.

Today, C. R. Bard, Inc. is a leading multinational developer, manufacturer and marketer of innovative, life-enhancing medical technologies in the fields of vascular, urology, oncology and surgical specialty products, employing approximately 9,400 people in over 20 countries around the world. Bard has pioneered such devices as the Foley catheter, the heart-pacing catheter, the arterial prosthesis and the angioplasty catheter.

"As a leading medical technology company, we've always believed we should strengthen the wellness of our communities and help improve the quality of life of people around the world," commented Tim Ring, Chairman and CEO. "This culture of caring has been a hallmark of our organization for 100 years, and there's no better way to celebrate our centennial than by practicing our values."
