announced today that Todd C. Schermerhorn has been named to the position of
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective April 1, 2003,
replacing Charles P. Slacik who has resigned his position effective as of that
Schermerhorn, 42, joined the company in 1985 as a financial analyst. He has held
a succession of financial management positions including Controller of the
Vascular Systems Division, Vice President and Controller of the USCI Division,
and Vice President and Group Controller-Cardiology. Since 1998 Schermerhorn has
served as Vice President and Treasurer of Bard. He received a B.S. in Accounting
from the University of Lowell, an MBA from Babson College, and is a Certified
